The London Chamber of Arbitration (LCA) provides domestic and international arbitration and dispute resolution services in relation to a broad range of specialist and multi-disciplinary legal disputes. It operates under the auspices of The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). Its panel of arbitrators has been confined to a small number of highly distinguished former members of the Judiciary and practising Queen’s Counsel from the UK and overseas jurisdictions.
It operates in accordance with the Rules of the London Chamber of Arbitration. On request and with the consent of the parties it can also provide bespoke arbitration services to those willing to submit to its jurisdiction for the resolution of their disputes. It is equipped to deal with medium to high value cases with a particular focus on London disputes. This will involve generally the resolution of commercial disputes in the following areas of law: City and corporate, (including takeovers, mergers and acquisitions), general commercial, banking, professional and financial services, maritime, industrial, construction, property (real and intellectual), planning, insurance, reinsurance, trade and sports. It also has the capacity to deal with major cross-border, international trade, treaty and convention disputes including those arising out of the Brexit negotiations.
The panel of arbitrators has been appointed on the basis of its pre-eminent expertise and standing in the legal world. The LCA has its own arbitration premises and facilities for full, interim and emergency hearings at Central Court. These premises are situated at 25 Southampton Buildings close to the Royal Courts of Justice and the Inns of Court.
